HI, I’M DR. KAYLA BORCHERS!
Founder & Owner of the Holistically Well Method, Ortho/Pelvic Health Physical Therapist, Pre/Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist...
& most importantly a wife & mama of 4 littles who is passionate about proactive, root-case women’s health care.
After seeing too many women suffer from lack of preventative care while working as a clinician in Sports Medicine, I left my medical center position and launched my own Holistically Well Private Practice to teach women how to support their optimal well-being prior to conception, during pregnancy, through postpartum healing, and beyond!
Frustrated by the lack of
evidence-based, holistic women's health
resources on your journey into and through motherhood?
We've heard it time and time again –
“every women should have access to this type of information”. Yet for some reason, our society has not yet evolved to educate women on their menstrual cycles and hormone health ahead of conception. Midwives and gynecologists are strapped for time during prenatal visits and are not taught how to care for the pregnant woman through optimal exercise and nourishment throughout pregnancy – that’s where we come in as your Holistic Orthopedic and Pelvic Health Physical Therapist Team.
Treating pain points – and ultimately preventing their onset in the first place – is our stroke of genius. Finally, as women transition into postpartum they are simply cleared at 6 weeks without any guidance on how to optimally heal their pelvic floor and deep core. This is the biggest disservice to mothers and it’s my mission to help you return to the activities you love – all while giving yourself grace, honoring this life season of change, and leaning into the beauty that is motherhood.
Meet Dr. Kayla Borchers
Founder, Owner, Mama of Four, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Since launching this Holistic Physical Therapy and Wellness Private Practice in 2022, I’ve helped hundreds of women support their bodies through intentional movement, nourishment, and holistic health education so they can maintain an active lifestyle, avoid pain, manage urinary leakage, prepare confidently for childbirth, navigate postpartum healing, and optimally support their bodies for conception.
Over the years, my work has evolved alongside my own journey into motherhood. I am now a mother of four, and each birth has deepened both my clinical perspective and my reverence for the design of the female body. Our fourth baby was born at home, nearly 10 pounds, with zero tearing — a testament to intentional preparation, functional mobility, and trusting the body’s capacity when proactively supported well.
Utilizing a root-cause approach to women’s health sets my team and I apart from traditional models of care, as does our background in orthopedics, sports medicine, pelvic health, and integrative dry needling. I believe preparation is powerful, and that thriving is available in every season when we build the right foundations.
I grew up in an entrepreneurial family with small-town roots, so finding a need in the community around me and tending to it runs deep in my blood. We are currently building our dream home in our hometown — a full-circle season that reflects my heart for investing locally while also serving others across the world through one-on-one physical therapy and our Holistically Well programs.
Faith is the foundation for my life’s work — with my husband and children as the “why” behind all that I do. I love the slow, simple joys in our everyday rhythm of life — from sourdough pancakes on cold winter mornings to barefoot gardening in the summer sun. Our family of six also shares a love for adventure, and my husband and I find great joy in planning trips that expose our children to new cultures and the beauty of the world around us.
Ready to begin your wellness journey? I am deeply grateful that you trust my team and me with your care. We look forward to collaborating with you to optimize your health across every season of growing your family — walking alongside you toward lasting strength and wellness, free from pain or leakage.

Meet the TEAM: Dr. Lauren klosterman
Wife, Mama of Two, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Lauren Klosterman is a physical therapist specializing in Orthopedics with expertise in Holistic Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Therapy, along with advanced certification in Integrative Dry Needling. She was a four-year collegiate athlete on the rowing team at the University of Iowa, spent time serving patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2019.
Over the past 5+ years, Dr. Lauren has helped patients meet their goals, regain strength, and return to the activities they love — pain free and confident in their bodies.
Dr. Lauren married her husband in 2023 and welcomed their first daughter, Josephine, in 2024. Since then, their family has grown to include a second daughter, intentionally born breech at home — an experience that further deepened her understanding of the body’s design, resilience, and capacity when supported well.
During her first year of motherhood, Dr. Lauren intentionally stepped back to focus fully on her vocation as a mother. That season strengthened her conviction that women deserve care that honors both the science of medicine and the wisdom of the body.
Her clinical approach reflects an integrative model of care — thoughtfully combining Western medicine with holistic wellness principles to address the root cause of dysfunction. Becoming a mother herself sparked a deeper passion to walk alongside women in pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond, helping them feel strong, prepared, and supported. She firmly believes that when a mother’s health is prioritized, the entire family benefits.

Frequently Asked Questions
I’m pregnant and want to avoid common postpartum issues. Is there anything I can do proactively?
Yes — and this is one of the best decisions you can make for your long-term health.
Proactive prenatal physical therapy can significantly reduce your risk of postpartum concerns such as pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, core weakness, back pain, and painful recovery.
During pregnancy, we perform a comprehensive, head-to-toe assessment evaluating:
- Pelvic floor coordination and strength
- Core function and breath mechanics
- Hip and spinal mobility
- Alignment and movement patterns
- Nervous system regulation
From there, we create an individualized plan to help you physically and mentally prepare for childbirth and recovery.
Between 32–34 weeks, we may also introduce perineal preparation techniques (when appropriate) to support tissue mobility and reduce the risk of perineal tearing, laceration, or episiotomy.
Many women tell us, “I wish someone had told me about pelvic floor physical therapy sooner.” That is exactly why we are so passionate about offering this specialty care in Sidney, Ohio and surrounding communities.
Birth preparation is postpartum preparation — and it’s never too early to begin.
I feel fine but want to use physical therapy preventively. Is that allowed?
Absolutely.
Physical therapy is not only for injury or pain. Many of our clients use preventative physical therapy to:
- Maintain pelvic floor health
- Optimize strength and mobility
- Support athletic performance
- Reduce risk of injury
- Prepare for pregnancy or return to exercise postpartum
- Optimize fertility ahead of conception
We offer “wellness” or “tune-up” visits for patients who want to stay proactive.
Your body is an investment. When you care for it consistently, you prevent breakdown before it begins.
Do you offer online programs or only in-person care?
We offer both!
If you are local to Sidney, Ohio, we provide one-on-one holistic orthopedic and pelvic health physical therapy sessions in our private practice.
If you are outside the area — or prefer a guided, self-paced option — we offer comprehensive online programs for:
Each program is designed and led by Dr. Kayla Borchers, a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in holistic orthopedic and pelvic health, and is comprehensive, research-backed, and intentionally created to support women far beyond generic fitness plans or surface-level advice.
Our online programs integrate movement, breathwork, nourishment, nervous system support, and education — so you receive structured guidance wherever you live.
Do you accept insurance?
To provide the highest quality, one-on-one care, we operate as an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly.
However, we are happy to provide a detailed Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement varies depending on your individual plan.
Choosing not to contract with insurance allows us to:
- Spend a full 60 minutes with you
- Provide hands-on, individualized care
- Avoid rushed treatment models
- Focus on root-cause healing rather than visit quotas
Why would I choose out-of-network physical therapy instead of in-network care?
Many of our clients have insurance but choose our practice for a different level of care.
In traditional in-network settings, patients may experience:
- Long wait times before beginning therapy
- Use of assistant level providers in place of doctors of physical therapy
- shared appointments
- Limited one-on-one treatment time
- Visit caps dictated by insurance
- Higher overall costs due to deductibles and co-pays
Our model prioritizes:
- 60-minute one-on-one sessions
- Consistency with a Doctor of Physical Therapy
- Faster access to care
- Fewer total visits needed in many cases
- Transparent pricing
For many patients, this approach results in less overall time, frustration, and long-term cost.
We respect that every individual must choose what works best for their family and finances — and we are here to support you.
What is the investment for physical therapy?
Our current rate is:
- $150 per 60-minute evaluation or treatment session
There are no co-pays, surprise bills, or hidden fees.
We also offer package options for those seeking ongoing care at a discounted rate.
Investing in proactive, specialized care now can prevent far greater costs — physically and financially — in the future.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept:
- Cash
- Check
- Debit and credit cards
- HSA (Health Savings Account)
- FSA (Flexible Spending Account)
- Venmo
Do I need a physician referral?
No referral is required.
Ohio allows direct access to physical therapy, meaning you can schedule immediately without waiting for a physician referral.
If you do have a referral, you are welcome to bring it. We are also happy to collaborate with your OB, midwife, chiropractor, or other providers to ensure cohesive care.
Can I bring my child to my appointment?
Yes — children are always welcome.
We understand the realities of motherhood and strive to create a supportive, family-friendly environment. We keep toys available and encourage you to choose what feels most manageable for your season.
You are not expected to choose between caring for yourself and caring for your children.
