LOVE FROM MY CLIENTS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I’m pregnant and want to avoid common postpartum issues. Is there anything I can do proactively?

Yes — and this is one of the best decisions you can make for your long-term health.

Proactive prenatal physical therapy can significantly reduce your risk of postpartum concerns such as pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, core weakness, back pain, and painful recovery.

During pregnancy, we perform a comprehensive, head-to-toe assessment evaluating:

  • Pelvic floor coordination and strength
  • Core function and breath mechanics
  • Hip and spinal mobility
  • Alignment and movement patterns
  • Nervous system regulation

From there, we create an individualized plan to help you physically and mentally prepare for childbirth and recovery.

Between 32–34 weeks, we may also introduce perineal preparation techniques (when appropriate) to support tissue mobility and reduce the risk of perineal tearing, laceration, or episiotomy.

Many women tell us, “I wish someone had told me about pelvic floor physical therapy sooner.” That is exactly why we are so passionate about offering this specialty care in Sidney, Ohio and surrounding communities.

Birth preparation is postpartum preparation — and it’s never too early to begin.

I feel fine but want to use physical therapy preventively. Is that allowed?

Absolutely.

Physical therapy is not only for injury or pain. Many of our clients use preventative physical therapy to:

  • Maintain pelvic floor health
  • Optimize strength and mobility
  • Support athletic performance
  • Reduce risk of injury
  • Prepare for pregnancy or return to exercise postpartum
  • Optimize fertility ahead of conception

We offer “wellness” or “tune-up” visits for patients who want to stay proactive.

Your body is an investment. When you care for it consistently, you prevent breakdown before it begins.

Do you offer online programs or only in-person care?

We offer both!

If you are local to Sidney, Ohio, we provide one-on-one holistic orthopedic and pelvic health physical therapy sessions in our private practice.

If you are outside the area — or prefer a guided, self-paced option — we offer comprehensive online programs for:

Each program is designed and led by Dr. Kayla Borchers, a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in holistic orthopedic and pelvic health, and is comprehensive, research-backed, and intentionally created to support women far beyond generic fitness plans or surface-level advice.

Our online programs integrate movement, breathwork, nourishment, nervous system support, and education — so you receive structured guidance wherever you live.

Do you accept insurance?

To provide the highest quality, one-on-one care, we operate as an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly.

However, we are happy to provide a detailed Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement varies depending on your individual plan.

Choosing not to contract with insurance allows us to:

  • Spend a full 60 minutes with you
  • Provide hands-on, individualized care
  • Avoid rushed treatment models
  • Focus on root-cause healing rather than visit quotas

Why would I choose out-of-network physical therapy instead of in-network care?

Many of our clients have insurance but choose our practice for a different level of care.

In traditional in-network settings, patients may experience:

  • Long wait times before beginning therapy
  • Use of assistant level providers in place of doctors of physical therapy
  • shared appointments
  • Limited one-on-one treatment time
  • Visit caps dictated by insurance
  • Higher overall costs due to deductibles and co-pays

Our model prioritizes:

  • 60-minute one-on-one sessions
  • Consistency with a Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Faster access to care
  • Fewer total visits needed in many cases
  • Transparent pricing

For many patients, this approach results in less overall time, frustration, and long-term cost.

We respect that every individual must choose what works best for their family and finances — and we are here to support you.

What is the investment for physical therapy?

Our current rate is:

  • $150 per 60-minute evaluation or treatment session

There are no co-pays, surprise bills, or hidden fees.

We also offer package options for those seeking ongoing care at a discounted rate.

Investing in proactive, specialized care now can prevent far greater costs — physically and financially — in the future.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Debit and credit cards
  • HSA (Health Savings Account)
  • FSA (Flexible Spending Account)
  • Venmo

Do I need a physician referral?

No referral is required.

Ohio allows direct access to physical therapy, meaning you can schedule immediately without waiting for a physician referral.

If you do have a referral, you are welcome to bring it. We are also happy to collaborate with your OB, midwife, chiropractor, or other providers to ensure cohesive care.

Can I bring my child to my appointment?

Yes — children are always welcome.

We understand the realities of motherhood and strive to create a supportive, family-friendly environment. We keep toys available and encourage you to choose what feels most manageable for your season.

You are not expected to choose between caring for yourself and caring for your children.

you deserve to be supported

before, during and after pregnancy.
